Welcome to Del Roble Elementary School. Our school community cares deeply about meeting the needs of our diverse student population and providing them with rigorous, Common Core standards-based instruction, and a comprehensive educational program. Our community of learners is made up of outstanding students, a dedicated staff of caring professionals, active and involved parents, and a supportive community. We are committed to working together toward the success of all of the children at Del Roble Elementary.
It is the mission of Del Roble Elementary School to maximize each student’s potential through meaningful education in a safe and culturally inclusive environment. It is our goal to work with the family and community to provide a strong academic foundation in order to prepare all students to become productive citizens in a global society.
To address this mission, Del Roble Elementary School will:
• Provide a safe and secure environment where people enjoy learning.
• Stress the importance of rigorous academic programming.
• Recognize the worth, dignity, and leadership capacity of every individual.
• Focus on quality, research based instructional programming.
• Work in partnership with the parents and the Del Roble community.
Del Roble Elementary School is committed to offering a challenging and supportive school program for all of our Transitional Kindergarten through 6th grade students. Our continuing goal is to prepare students with the vital knowledge and skills they will need for success, while at the same time encouraging creativity, curiosity, and a life-long appreciation for learning. A 21st century classroom must engage and energize all students so that they become active participants in our exciting global and tech savvy community. The academic program at Del Roble reflects Common Core standards, the 4 C’s of Collaboration (Creativity, Communication, and Critical Thinking), and strategies to support English Language Learners.
Character education is a high priority at Del Roble. We are implementing Positive Behavioral Interventions and Support (PBIS) this year. PBIS is a systemic approach to proactive school-wide behavior. PBIS applies evidence-based programs, practices and strategies for all students to increase academic performance, improve safety, decrease problem behavior, and establish a positive school culture.
We are deeply proud of the partnerships we have with our Del Roble families and our community. The commitment of our community to work together to support and enhance the learning experience of ALL students is evident when you visit our school. Parents volunteer on a regular basis in classrooms, the office, and for special programs. We encourage parents to attend all school functions and opportunities for parents to take on leadership roles (Home and School Club, HABLA Latino Parent Group, African-American Parent Group, Site Council, YMCA parent leadership, etc.).
We look forward to working in partnership with you to support our students in their journey as learners. If you have questions about our school, please feel free to contact us through e-mail, phone, or in person. Have a wonderful year!
